Double monkey – one of the spectacular ways of overcoming the obstacles but also it is very effective in cases when you need to overcome two relatively high obstacles or one long. First of all more convenient to use double monkey if the height of the obstacles is to the waist or chest because not always you have strength to push body into a protracted monkey (Kong) and do not cling with your knees.
When you do double monkey through high hurdles, you make latching swoop and make your body up & forward. Than help the body make up with your hands, which you rely on first obstacle. Then make a smooth push with your hands and straighten both legs making momentum move forward. You should feel the balance. Do not hold hands on the obstacle, because you can roll forward over the head and do not put the body down cause you can hit the second obstacle. The hand landing on the second obstacle must be smooth, the body should be approximately 40-70 degree angle to reduce the chance grabbing your knees of the second obstacle. Bend your legs and gently push with your hands from the second obstacle and make landing.
Before executing the movement make warming exercises, especially pay attention to hands. After some time of practice you will be able to run up the barrier, just orient and apply double monkey without any difficulties.
