Reverse

Reverse – is one of the ways of jump when you lean on hands and turn through 360 degrees over the obstacle. It can be used and performed in the case you find yourself in close proximity to the obstacle. Or, if necessary, to stop just outside the barrier. As you jump up over the obstacle, bear on your arms and made a base turn 360 degrees. Then do a slight push by your hands from the obstacle. When you land look on your ankle and knees, do not let it be twisted in joints.

Lazy

Lazy

Lazy (slide monkey) — vault over the obstacle that can be performed in different variations over the obstacles with different heights. If you move along the obstacle swing the closest to the barrier foot and lean your whole body and place closest to the obstacle arm on it. Swing your other leg up and over the obstacle and as your body weight passes over the obstacle, place your free hand down behind you to help you keep balance. Then push with both hands and perform dismount. If the obstacle is very high or you move to it at sharp angle, then you will be hard to do swing by closest leg, it is very inconvenient! In this case swing your far leg. Depending on the height of the obstacle use roll or landing.

Speed

Speed

Speed – is very simple at first glance way of overcoming the obstacles. For its execution get close to the obstacle: push off from one leg and reach your hand to place it on top of the obstacle securely. Carry your body parallel to the barrier. This move is performed at high speed. It is important not to forget about swinging leg up to bring the body parallel to the obstacle. Then make a little push by your hand, keep your momentum going forwards, control your landing. Land on your ball and place it straight forwards your direction to reduce impact and avoid ankle injuries.

Moscow, Luzhniki. Summer 2009.

Within the sports festival in Moscow, organized with the support  of “Moskomsport”, Parkour Festival held . Special guests of this event were: Chau Belle Dinh, and Laurent Piemontesi (Yamakasi) – founders of the French Academy of Art Du Deplacement (ADD) Now the participants of  Majestic Force project. Anyone of the festival participants was given the opportunity to gain experience and skills from them.

We  captured on video some moments from the festival and also communicated with guests, so what is left over:

Hi Chiao, what are your impressions of the festival?

Organization is on high-level and people are very friendly. Most of the guys has very good physicаl trained body. But a lot of guys are moving too hard! They are trying by force to execute complex motion, excessively loading their muscles, thus loading the heart, which is extremely undesirable.

When we started practicing, we did not try to overcome an obstacle or make a leap for which we were not ready! You see with the naked eye that the majority is trying to do things for which they aren’t ready physically. If you are not ready so find another way to overcome this obstacle…

What can you advise in parkour practicing?
